The Donald E. Davis Arboretum - 1982 Dedication Ceremony
On May 29, 1982, an official dedication ceremony was held to name the arboretum in honor of Dr. Donald E. Davis for his service of 35 years including his oustanding contributions in teaching and research at Auburn University.
The Arboretum, originally proposed in 1959 and formally approved in 1963, had more than 250 species of plants available for study at the time of its dedication. Today, the Arboretum has 7,961 individual plants throughout the 13-acre facility.
