Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
The College of Sciences and Mathematics Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Office (COSAM ADAA Office) provides college-level leadership, management, and oversight of all undergraduate academic affairs of the college, and supports the college mission and the university strategic plan through:
- Promoting and celebrating student academic success and excellence in teaching
- Offering day-to-day support for all COSAM students, ensuring their academic needs are met
- Orchestrating official processes for the development, maintenance, revision, or deletion of curriculum, courses, or programs of study.
- Facilitating academic program review, academic degree assessment and accreditation activities, and administrative reviews
- Serving as the administrative home for the Biomedical Sciences degree program and the Auburn University Rural Medicine Program
- Supporting university policy and procedures regarding academics and student affairs
- Serving as a resource and support for academic departments for resolving faculty and/or student issues
The COSAM ADAA Office has administrative oversight of the COSAM Student and Career Services Office, the Biomedical Sciences undergraduate degree program, and special initiatives like the Auburn University Rural Medicine Program. The COSAM ADAA Office handles all aspects of the college’s undergraduate student affairs, manages the COSAM curricular procedures, and facilitates the recognition of student achievements through the annual COSAM Academic Awards, selection of the COSAM Graduation Marshal, and processing of the COSAM Dean’s List each semester.
