Arboretum Days -Dancing in the Bog

Time: Apr 30, 2011 (09:00 AM)
Location: Arboretum

Details:

Starting at 9 AM, this Arboretum program will delve into the world of carnivorous plants and their habitat.  An insect eating ‘pitcher’ will be dissected to see what insects have become prey to the plants.  The bog that is being built in the Arboretum to grow these cool plants will be discussed, and in preparation for planting we’ll need to ‘stomp the bog’.  Shoes that can be gotten wet and dirty are highly recommended.  Rubber boots would be excellent.  Come and learn about these amazing plants and the friends they keep.

Since this activity will take place by the Arboretum shed, you could park in the Auburn Church of Christ parking lot and come into the Arboretum’s back entrance.

Pre-registration really helps us prepare.  Just send an email to arbinfo@auburn.edu with your child’s name and grade.  It’s that easy!
