Title: Trigonometric Approximation in Lie Groups
Abstract: Weierstrass proved that every continuous function from the circle group R/Z to the Lie group \(R^n\) can be uniformly approximated by functions with trigonometric polynomial entries. This property also holds for semisimple Lie groups. We discuss approximation methods and applications to optics, robotics, and wavelets.
