McDonald invited to speak at 35th Midwestern Conference on Combinatorics and Combinatorial Computing

DMS Associate Professor Jessica McDonald has been invited to speak at 35th Midwestern Conference on Combinatorics and Combinatorial Computing taking place on the campus of University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) on October 18–20, 2024.   The Midwestern Conference on Combinatorics and Combinatorial Computing (MCCCC) originally started as the Carbondale Combinatorics Conferences and were held (1986-1990) at the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. The conference has since evolved to a prestigious national conference in the areas of Combinatorics and Computing and has achieved recognition and attracted scholars and researchers of various backgrounds from different institutions. Here they coalesce their individual contributions into a collection of ideas and inspirations for the advancement of combinatorics and combinatorial computing.

Destination STEM inspires regional middle school students with hands-on science and math experiences

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM) at Auburn University hosted its annual Destination STEM event at the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum, attracting more than 900 students and educators from 14 Alabama schools from nine counties (Lee, Houston, Pike, Elmore, Chambers, Lowndes, Russell, Montgomery, Bullock).
