Auburn employees enjoy 9 paid holiday days each year, and these days do not use any other accrued leave time. The President has also continued to close the University for roughly 2 weeks at the end of the year in addition to the other approved dates. Auburn employees start accruing time off immediately upon starting. Depending on exemption status and years of service, the accrual will range from 8-13.34 hours per month which is an annual total of 12-20 days of leave available per year! You can see the full policy here.
Auburn employees also start accruing sick leave immediately upon starting. All employees earn 8 hours of sick leave per month, or 12 days of sick leave per year. That leave may be used for you or for an immediate family member. For more information on the sick leave policy, click here.

Full-time employees are required to contribute 6% of earnable income to the Teacher's Retirement System, but the University contributes over 11% to your retirement account! There are also several voluntary retirement programs available with University contributions available as well. More information on the types of retirement plans is available here.
After working for the University for a year, regular full-time employees are eligible to take 15 credit hours worth of classes for free every year, pending eligibility and supervisor approval.
