War Eagle

Auburn has been known as the Tigers since we first fielded a football team to play the Georgia Bulldogs in 1892. War Eagle is our battle cry, a greeting and so much more. Whether you’re shouting it, watching the eagle fly inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, or singing the Auburn fight song, War Eagle is a cherished tradition for the Auburn Family.

Aubie the Tiger
Aubie the Tiger

Women love him, children adore him and men want to be him. That's what they say about Auburn's mascot, Aubie the Tiger. Aubie is our goodwill ambassador and winner of 11 national mascot championships. He was even inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2006.

For both students and alumni, Homecoming is always great time to be an Auburn Tiger. More than just a football game, Homecoming is a weeklong celebration of the Auburn Family, including a parade and pep rally and the crowning of Miss Homecoming.
Hey Day Traditions
Hey Day

Started in 1947 as a way to help WWII vets transition back to campus, Hey Day is now a day of campus-wide connection. Every Hey Day, name tags are distributed across campus, making it easy to greet and connect with students, faculty, staff and the community.

There’s no day like Auburn gameday. Get excited with the team at Tiger Walk and watch our majestic eagle soar around Jordan-Hare before the Tigers hit the field. Waaaaaaaaar Eagle.

Rolling Toomer's Corner

After an Auburn Tiger victory, thousands of fans pour out of Jordan-Hare Stadium to roll the oaks at Toomer’s Corner. It's a shared celebration that has united the Auburn Family since 1971.

Each spring, Auburn's football team plays a scrimmage match called the A-Day Game at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Giving Tiger fans a sneak peek at their favorite team before the fall season.

Fight Song and Alma Mater

Hear it once, and it’s a part of you forever. Since the 1955 football season, "War Eagle" has reigned as Auburn University's fight song. It even rings out every day at noon from the Samford Hall clock tower. Along with our alma mater, the fight song is part of our musical tradition.

War Eagle Road

Take a drive to campus and discover a unique musical road. The rumble strips on War Eagle Road — a stretch of South Donahue Drive headed toward Samford Avenue — have been engineered to play a familiar tune as you drive over them: the first notes of "War Eagle," the Auburn University fight song!
