My research interests lie in the interaction of engineered nanoparticles (NPs) with biological systems. Over the past decade, nanotechnology has evolved from fundamentals to applications. Since NPs have great potential to bring improvements to the biomedical field and have become part of a myriad of consumer goods, from food packaging and beverages to cosmetics, their impact on biological systems should be better understood. Cell and molecular biology tools (including Omics-based approaches) are employed to detect molecular changes and perturbations in biological networks and pathways by NPs, which may lead to potential adverse effects on human health.
