Bringing Global Climate Change Education to Alabama Classrooms: Symposium

Time: Apr 26, 2012 (08:00 AM)
Location: Auburn University Hotel and Dixon Conference Center

Details:
The College of Sciences and Mathematics will host a dead-day symposium titled, “Bringing Global Climate Change Education to Alabama Classrooms.” The program will feature five climate change experts from across the country, each of whom will give a presentation in their area of expertise and participate in an open panel discussion. Also attending will be more than 75 high school science teacher fellows from across the state, as well as all the Alabama Science in Motion specialists. The symposium is the culmination of a four-year NASA-funded Global Climate Change in Education grant to develop and implement climate change education modules throughout Alabama high schools by way of the Alabama Science in Motion system. Potentially the program reaches over 200,000 high school students in Alabama. There is no registration fee for the presentations and panel discussion. However, tickets to the luncheon are available for $20 per person. For more information, contact Amy Thomas at 844-1644 or alt0009@auburn.edu and visit the Global Climate Change Education website
