It is important to consider the following prior to changing your major:

Student-athletes should check with their Athletics Counselor to discuss how changing might impact your eligibility.

If you are receiving federal financial aid, there may be guidelines requiring you to be enrolled in a specific number of degree applicable hours. Changing your major within the first fifteen class days may impact your aid. Please be sure to speak with Financial Aid before changing your major. Financial aid questions should be directed to the Financial Aid Office 334-844-4634

Students receiving a scholarship should be aware that changing their major could impact their scholarship eligibility. For more information, please reviewscholarship details by logging into the Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM). Once logged in, select the scholarship awarded, andthen select the "Offer Letter" tab on the top right of the screen for award details. If needed, contact information for departmental scholarship administratorsmay be found at aub.ie/generaldepartmentalsch.

Students receiving VA benefits should be aware that changing their major could impact their benefits. They should consult a VA advisor prior to requestingto change their major. VA benefit questions should be directed to the Veterans Resource Center at 334-844-8167.

Ready to request a major change? Follow the instructions below based on your current status:

New freshmen that have not yet registered for their fall schedule should use the link provided in the applicant portal to request a major change. It may takeup to two business days for you to see a change reflected in the Academic Profile in AU Access.

New freshmen that have registered for their fall schedule should request to change their major at www.aub.ie/majorchange . The college of the new major being requested will be notified and reach out to your Auburn email address with additional instructions.

New freshmen wishing to add a second major or degree should make this request at www.aub.ie/addmajor

New transfer students that have not yet registered for their fall schedule should use the link provided in the applicant portal to request a major change. It may takeup to two business days for you to see a change reflected in the Academic Profile in AU Access.

When you submit your major change request, your new college will be notified. Please see specific instructions for some colleges below. If the college you wish to change to is not listed, your major will be changed upon receipt of the request and you will be able to schedule an appointment with your new advisor at that time. Please allow 2-3 business days for the request to be process
