Leadership Team
Anja Werth is a Senior Lecturer of German in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. Originally from Germany, she graduated with an M.A. in cultural anthropology, American studies, and German as a foreign language from the University of Leipzig, Germany and with an M.Ed. from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. She has also taught at universities in Australia and China and initially came to Auburn in 2007 where she teaches German at all levels. In addition, she co-teaches Global Fluency and Awareness and offers a German Film Series every semester. Her interests lie in pedagogy/ methodology and media in the classroom. She has presented at numerous conferences over the years focusing on pedagogy and technology in the classroom, as well as the incorporation of culture into the curriculum. In 2018, she was awarded the Outstanding Lecturer Award by the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University.
