Barclay Bentley serves as the director of the Office of Accessibility and oversees the accommodation process for all Auburn students with disabilities. Working in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff, Bentley and his team provide reasonable accommodations, assistive technology, physical access, and other services. In addition to leading a team of professional staff, Bentley coordinates with accommodation specialists and other disability services professionals across the University to facilitate campus resources and provides increased access for students with disabilities.
A native of Cullman, Alabama, Bentley holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling, both from Auburn University. Bentley began working with the Office of Accessibility as a graduate student in 2011 and eventually joined the unit full-time as an Accommodation Specialist in September 2013. Bentley was named assistant director in November 2018 and became director in May 2022. He lives in Auburn with his wife and daughter.
