Riley Hubbard - Bio
Riley Hubbard serves as a Communications and Marketing Specialist for the Provost’s Office, supporting strategic communications and marketing initiatives that advance the office’s priorities and the university’s strategic plan. In this role, he develops and implements communications and marketing plans, creates digital and media content, and collaborates with academic units to highlight initiatives, achievements, and outcomes aligned with the Provost’s Office’s academic priorities. He also supports programs and initiatives that engage internal and external stakeholders and works with units across campus to develop creative strategies that strengthen awareness and engagement around the office’s programs and priorities.
Hubbard served as a communications assistant within the Auburn Athletics Department for four seasons, serving as the primary sports information director for multiple sports responsible for writing press releases, updating statistics, creating media guides and other official publications. He also coordinated all content for assigned athletic teams’ social media channels including photography, videography, and graphics as well as partnered with local and national media outlets for the promotion of Auburn’s athletic programs.
In addition to his role with Auburn University, Hubbard also serves as an on-air talent and technical engineer for Auburn Network, a position he has held since August of 2016. In this role, Hubbard serves as the co-host of Auburn/Opelika This Morning on NewsTalk WANI and manages the Auburn Network’s automation systems. He has been awarded eight honors for broadcast excellence by the Alabama Broadcasters' Association during his tenure.
Prior to his time in athletics communications, Hubbard served as the Player Development & Data Analyst for the Auburn baseball program for three seasons under head coach Butch Thompson (August 2019- June 2022). In this position, Hubbard was responsible for the program's sports technologies, film and analytics efforts as well as assisting in advance team scouting. He was part of the 2022 Auburn team that advanced to the College World Series in Omaha.
Hubbard received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Auburn University Harbert College of Business. The Auburn, Alabama, native is also an active member of All Christ Church where he serves as a volunteer on their production team and formerly as a community group facilitator. In his free time, Hubbard enjoys watching sporting events, golfing, fishing, and spending time in fellowship with friends.
