Membership Eligibility
The criteria and limits observed in selecting persons to membership follow the Chapter's Bylaws
and membership eligibility of
The Society. At Auburn University, eligibility for membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is determined by the following criteria:
- Seniors may be selected who are in the upper 10 percent of a graduating class and have completed at least 45 semester hours in residence at Auburn.
- Juniors shall be considered eligible for membership who rank in the upper 7.5 percent of their class after completing at least two academic years or 72 semester hours (may include advanced standing credit) and 38 of these 72 semester hours must have been in residence at Auburn.
- Graduate students are eligible the semester they are graduating and are considered to rank in the top 10 percent of their class.
- Professional students are eligible in their third and fourth years. They must rank in the top 10 percent of all professional students.
- Faculty members and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction may be selected for membership in limited numbers.
- An occasional honorary or distinguished member may be selected by a chapter, with the approval of the Society's Board of Directors.
