To maintain continuity in Auburn’s academic work, certain existing academic committees will continue their responsibilities for the time being. Relevant committee chairs have been informed and asked to notify members accordingly. As the transition proceeds, the name, composition, structure, scope, function, and other aspects of these particular committees will be reviewed and revised as needed to align with Board policy and the University’s new academic advisory framework.
University Professorships Committee
The committee shall review nominations for alumni professorships, University professorships, and other professorships as needed and shall make recommendations to the president about appointments to these positions based on the nominees’ contributions to the University’s mission.
Membership
The University Professorships Committee shall be composed of 7 members:
- Faculty (six faculty shall consist of):
- Three faculty who are current or former alumni professors
- Three faculty who are current or former chaired professors other than alumni professors
- Continuing, Ex-officio
- Provost or designee as Chair
