Educating the Next Generation of Scientists



What are the Geosciences? 


Geosciences focuses on the Earth and the complex interactions among natural and human systems.Topics addressed include the traditional concerns of geologists – such things as finding fossil fuels, mining, and discovering and interpreting fossils. Geoscientists in our department also study environmental issues such as groundwater contamination, natural hazards, GIS applications to mapping science, and human geography.
