Help underserved communities receive much needed medical tests and earn experience for your medical school application, resume or future graduate studies
You can make a difference in one of the poorest countries in the world while earning hands-on experience for your medical school application.
Malawi, located in East Africa, is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” for its reputation of the warmest and friendliest people on the continent.
But those people need your help.
The third-world country has many underserved communities that are served by mobile clinics. As part of this study abroad experience, you can help people through administering tests and gain hands-on work experience in clinical laboratory science.
You will also be able to network with other students and participate in exciting activities such as a weekend safari at Liwonde National Park. Known around the world, Liwonde has some of the most sought-after areas to see elephants, crocodiles and hippos.
Stop by the chemistry building on Monday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. to learn more about this opportunity. In room 151, members of Lambda Tau will be able to tell you more about the experience and how you can make a real difference to the people of Malawi.
