In November 2018, Auburn hosted the inaugural charter meeting of the AL CIO Council. This group works to create synergy among universities, health systems, research centers, and state agencies thereby improving service delivery in areas such as telemedicine, education, safety, and economic growth.

Members of the IT Service Desk attend each session of Camp War Eagle annually to make sure incoming students are aware of the various tech services that are available to them and how to get technical help if they need it.
This year, OIT had the opportunity to work with the Student Government Association and focus a portion of safety week on the increasing importance of cyber safety. Students received free webcam covers for stopping by the table.
As part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, OIT took to the concourse with Aubie, candy, and free water bottles to encourage students to "Play It Safe" with cybersecurity. You can see the details of the 2018 cybersecurity campaign here.
Every year, OIT puts a major emphasis on giving back to the university through the Faculty/Staff Giving Campaign. In 2018, OIT celebrated achieving our goal of having 85% of the staff contribute. How did we celebrate? With ice cream, Aubie, and music by our multi-talented staff, of course!
