The Federal Teach Grant provides funds for students pursuing a degree in specific education programs. The program provides grant funds for postsecondary students who are completing coursework in a federally designated critical-need area of education and agree to serve for at least four-years as a full-time, highly qualified teacher in a low-income school. The current Teach Grant award amount is $3,772 per year. Disbursement amounts are prorated based on credit hours. Failure to complete the four-year service agreement will result in the grant being converted to a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan in which you must repay in full, with interest.

Because the College of Education cannot guarantee that other Teacher Education programs designated by state and local agencies as high-need areas will remain in that category, only those federally guaranteed programs are TEACH Grant eligible at Auburn University.
TEACH Grant regulations require that all interested students must complete the online FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Although you must complete the FAFSA application, you do not have to qualify for need based student aid in order to receive the TEACH Grant. The TEACH Grant is a non-need based federal opportunity.
A 3.25 overall GPA is a requirement of this fund. However, you may still be eligible by displaying high academic aptitude as demonstrated by scoring above the 75th percentile on at least one battery on a standardized admissions test such as the SAT or ACT.
