Day Job:
There is no such thing as a typical day in my job, and that is what I love most about it. My day might involve developing policies, procedures, and job aids; reviewing crime reports and initiating appropriate university responses; coordinating campus safety outreach and training; assisting with coordinating the university’s response to emergencies; and meetings … always a lot of meetings because a large part of our work requires successful collaboration and coordination with many other university departments.
Favorite Auburn Experience:
It’s hard to choose, but I think my favorite (and most rewarding) Auburn experience was competing with the 2000 Auburn Lady Tigers Mini-Baja Team. My experience included helping to write a winning grant proposal, designing a vehicle, learning to weld and machine auto parts, and finally driving the finished vehicle in a competition. It was an amazingly challenging, fun and rewarding experience! Since then, I’ve been fortunate to be able to stay involved as an organizer when Auburn hosts the competition every three years.
Interests:
My main interests outside of work include rock and mineral collecting, enjoying nature, spending time with family, singing with the AUUF Saints and Singers, and volunteering.
