Emeritus Professor Worley Elected as NAI Fellow
Emeritus Professor S. Davis Worley has been elected to the rank of Fellow by the National Academy of Inventors. According to the NAI Fellows Selection Committee, Professor Worley has "demonstrated a highly prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development, and the welfare of society.”
Professor Worley will be inducted as a Fellow by Andrew Faile, the Deputy U.S. Commissioner for Patent Operations from the U.S Patent and Trademark Office, at a ceremony to be held at the California Institute of Technology in March, 2015. To put the significance of this award in perspective, it is worth noting that other scientists elected as NAI fellows this year include Steven Chu (Stanford), Emily Carter (Princeton), Graham Cooks (Purdue), and Richard Mathies (Berkeley).
