Summer Bridge program under way this week
Summer Bridge is a four-week, residential program for highly motivated, college bound students sponsored by COSAM’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. Founded in 1997, the program’s goal is to create a learning community of students who develop the academic and social skills necessary for achieving academic excellence from freshman year through graduation.
During the program, participants toured the Rosa Parks Museum, part of Troy University’s Montgomery campus. The museum holds a 55,000 square-foot library and research center.
Along with educational field trips to area museums, hospitals and manufacturing plants, students also tour Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy and College of Veterinary Medicine. Students participate in chemistry and math classes and attend presentations by COSAM academic advisors, Student Counseling Services and other organizations.
