COSAM’s chemistry graduate program ranked fourth in the nation
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry’s graduate school program was listed as the No. 4 program in the country on the 2016 Top Chemistry Graduate Programs rankings that were recently released by GraduatePrograms.com. Each year the website publishes top graduate school rankings, which are compiled based on student and alumni feedback in areas such as quality of instruction, student diversity, campus safety, and earning potential.
“The GraduateSchool.com ranking reflects well on the commitment of Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty to providing a high quality, collaborative research environment that allows our graduate students to develop into world class scholars during their time at Auburn University,” said Curtis Shannon, professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
The list includes the Top 25 programs according to recent surveys, and COSAM’s chemistry graduate program received an overall ranking of 4.55 out of 5, receiving its highest scores in Campus Safety, Quality of Instruction, Networking Opportunities, and Satisfaction With Degree.
“It is very nice to see this recognition for our Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry,” said COSAM Dean Nicholas Giordano. “We have a group of dynamic faculty who are doing an outstanding job in the classroom and the laboratory.”
A total of four SEC chemistry graduate programs were included in the top 25 list, with COSAM’s program ranking the highest among the group. To see the complete list, go to this link: http://www.graduateprograms.com/school-rankings/chemistry.
