James Richard Calder Endowed Graduate Award established

James Richard Calder Endowed Graduate Award has been established by former students of Dr. Calder.

The award shall be given to a graduate student who shows great promise as a mathematician in the area of Analysis. Preference will be given to an incoming student.

James Richard Calder joined the Department of Mathematics at Auburn University in 1963 and remained there until his untimely death in January 1973. At Auburn, he served as advisor to many graduate students, including eight who received their PhD degrees. Dr. Calder made a profound and lasting impact on his students at Auburn.
