COSAM Welcomes Students Back
Students began the Fall 2018 semester on Monday, August 20, 2018, at the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM). They were excited to be back on campus to begin classes. Here is what a few students are looking forward to most this year.
Frank Maslow from Cambridge, Minnesota, is starting his senior year with COSAM and is pursuing a career as an anesthesiologist. Maslow believes that the classes in biology and chemistry are preparing him to be successful in medical school next year.
Trinity Thomas is a freshman chemistry major and is looking forward to the new challenges of her coursework. She is from Dothan, Alabama, and wants to attend medical school and then begin a career as a surgeon.
Drew Koons, originally from Baldwin County, Alabama, is a new pre-pharmacy major. He is looking forward to starting his classes at COSAM. His grandfather was a pharmacist and inspires him to follow in the same career path.
Jonathan Roberts is ready to start his senior-level classes and is especially looking forward to taking Vertebrate Development. As a COSAM Biological Sciences major and Alabama native, he is excited to complete his education and apply to medical school.
Mary Kathryne Ward is not only a future Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, but she has a passion to become a marine biologist. Originally from Geneva, Alabama, she has always been drawn to marine biology and hopes to make a difference in this field.
Don’t forget that the COSAM Open House will take place in just another week on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Students can meet advisors, learn about organizations and clubs and much more.
