The initial feeling of belonging to the Auburn family captivates and motivates people from around the world to become a part of this growing community. Bhaven Sayania, Biomedical Sciences/Pre-Dentistry ’10, experienced this within the Auburn University College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM).

“After being a student in COSAM for the first year, I felt like I was part of a family,” Sayania said. “The familiarity of everything came so fast, the advisors, professors, students in my classes.”

Sayania grew up in Auburn and had the unique opportunity to experience the campus academically prior to attending as a student.

“I remember taking SAT courses in Haley Center, and fast forward a couple years and I was taking English Composition in the same classroom as a freshman in college,” Sayania said.

He discovered the perfect career that balanced and incorporated his varying interests within the medical field. He now practices orthodontics in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“After dental school, I realized I loved working with children, and I also loved the conceptual aspect of orthodontics,” Sayania exclaimed. “The great thing about orthodontics is that there are no needles or blood in the office; it’s all rainbows and unicorns!”

Sayania loved his experiences at Auburn and will always remember the family atmosphere, traditions and cultures he experienced during his time here.

“Meet as many people as you can in school, engage with interest groups, get to know your professors and advisors; step outside your boundaries and try new things,” Sayania advised current students. “Lastly, have a great time and make great memories.”
