Faculty from the Department of Physics Met for the Last Time in the Allison Laboratory Building
On May 1, 2019, faculty members gathered in a conference room in the Allison Laboratory Building. Since the 1960s, this building has been the home for the Department of Physics for generations of faculty and students.
The entire Department is moving into the new Leach Science Center Addition during the month of May. This 62,500 square-foot addition includes new laboratories for graduate and undergraduate students, classroom, offices, meeting spaces and even a rooftop telescope terrace.
“The new building offers a chance for faculty, staff, and students to collaborate, plus conduct research in one state-of-the-art facility,” explained Department of Physics Chair Dr. Jim Hanson.
Faculty is currently moving into their new office areas and configuring their research labs.
