Auburn statistician elected member in the International Statistical Institute
Guanqun (Vivian) Cao, associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, has been elected a member of the International Statistical Institute, or ISI.
“I am honored to be part of a society that promotes the importance of statistics worldwide,” said Cao.
She received her doctorate degree from the Michigan State University in 2012 and has been with Auburn University for a decade.
Cao’s research interests include Deep Learning, Functional Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Imaging Data Analysis and Non/semi-parametric Regression.
According to their website, “ISI Elected membership is open to individuals who are established in their careers and have made significant contributions to the statistical profession.”
