Cybersecurity is an ever-changing field and it is only increasing in importance. Every year, our cybersecurity team engages in several major projects, plus regular security maintenance and awareness efforts. This year we've grown our team, increased security across campus, found new ways to grow awareness, and dealt with the continuing issue presented by supporting secure practices while working and studying remotely.
The cybersecurity team worked on several significant projects throughout 2021. Some included the expansion of internal network security technologies, implementing new web application security mechanisms, and increasing layers of security on faculty and staff desktops and laptops.
Cybersecurity initiatives included the expansion of the Security Awareness and Training program. All faculty and staff now receive annual cybersecurity training. The team has also implemented a phishing campaign for all staff. For National Cybersecurity Month, the team pushed best practice tips for personal security.
