“My favorite part of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is that we have an open, collaborative team of excellent faculty to help students,” said Vanessa Falcao, a lecturer in the department.

Students are encouraged to reach out to their faculty early-on during the semester. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers an active learning space in Extension Hall so that students can ask questions in a relaxing and friendly environment.

“I love the impact that I can make to a large group of new students,” explained Rachel Prado, a lecturer in the department. “Having this learning space where we can help the students outside of class is important to ensure the success of our students.”

Students taking an introductory chemistry or biochemistry course can get assistance during weekly scheduled Student Hours with faculty.

“Students have an opportunity to get additional assistance to help them do well early in the semester,” shared Dave Crisostomo, a lecturer in the department.
