2024-2025 Fall and Spring Semesters

There are costs associated with attending college that are not included with tuition and fees. AU Student Financial Services constructs an estimated cost of attendance budget for Financial Aid purposes to help students budget for these items. The items included in the Estimated Cost of Attendance consist of tuition, books, course materials, supplies and equipment, living expenses (housing and food), personal/miscellaneous, and transportation.

Please note that items other than tuition/fees are strictly estimates and may vary greatly depending on where you are living and your personal needs. Students may not receive financial aid in excess of the Estimated Cost of Attendance.

Cost of Attendance Adjustments

Students may request an increase to their estimated cost of attendance for the following reasons: purchase/rental of a computer, commuter expenses, dependent care expenses, or student disability expenses. Students should email finaid7@auburn.edu with a brief statement regarding the type of expenses incurred to begin the request for an increase to the cost of attendance.

It is important that your expected housing status is correct so that you will be provided with the best estimate of your housing expenses. For additional information, please visit Expected Housing Status.

There are two additional COA categories that would result in variances in estimated cost of attendance. These two additional categories are students who live on-campus who have a dependent and students living on a military base or for which a basic allowance for housing (BAH) is provided. Students who fall into one of these additional categories should contact our office.
