Auburn had a major impact on John McGeever (business '62), who was a captain of the 1961 football team and went on to play in the NFL before embarking on a successful commercial real estate development career. That impact carried over to his children and grandchildren—many of whom also attended Auburn. Although he passed away in December 2022, McGeever's legacy lives on through an endowed scholarship in the Harbert College of Business.
