Shell Fisheries Center. Xavier Rios Flores and Faustin Mukunzi recently spent a semester working on projects in aquaponics and hydroponics that were inspired by their home countries.

Led by Jonathon Valente, assistant research professor, the study examines habitat management effects on wildlife in Alabama's Wildlife Management Areas. Using a variety of research methods, Valente's team will assess how wildlife communities are responding to management changes and evaluate outcomes.

The Vehicle Research and Innovation Laboratory project is proposed as a testing facility to address challenges faced by transit vehicle manufacturers in adopting low- or no-emissions technologies. The project will have a multi-axle dynamometer, designed for full-sized transit vehicles within an environmental chamber, along with areas for component and engine testing, data analytical space, and general office space.
