Auburn will transition to remote instruction on January 21, January 22 and January 23. Faculty maintain full discretion regarding how their course content will be delivered to students during this time. Faculty have multiple instructional options, including:
(1) Integrating missed content into future class meetings
(2) Offering remote instruction
(3) Utilizing university-designated make-up days (to be determined).
Faculty are expected to communicate all changes in instructional plans to students and are asked to consider the impact of these options on students’ unique needs and to provide flexibility, where possible. Remote teaching resources for faculty are available through the Biggio Center at https://aub.ie/remoteteach.
Due to anticipated extreme cold temperatures overnight Thursday and Friday, camping will not be permitted in advance of any of this weekend’s events, including Friday’s gymnastics meet against Oregon State along with Saturday’s ESPN College GameDay and men’s basketball versus Tennessee.

- Based on current campus operations guidance, employees deemed weather event essential and directed to come to campus between 7:45 a.m. Tuesday and 7:45 a.m. Friday should clock in/out and will be paid the time and a half premium pay for all hours worked on campus.
- All other employees should clock in/out via the time stamp function in Kronos. This is on AU Access, on the Employee Services tile, under the Tiger Time option.
- Any time off already scheduled during the weather event will be honored and be paid out as requested.
- Based on current campus operations guidance, employees deemed weather event essential and directed to come to campus between 7:45 a.m. Tuesday and 7:45 a.m. Friday should clock in/out and will be paid the time and a half premium pay for all hours worked on campus.
- TES and student employees deemed weather event essential and directed to come to campus should clock in/out and will be paid the time and a half premium pay for all hours worked on campus.
- TES and student employees may work remotely if approved by their supervisors. They should clock in/out and will be paid for all time worked.

Auburn University to shift to remote operations for Tuesday, Jan. 21
Auburn continues to monitor the projected impact of the winter weather, including dangerously cold temperatures, on the main campus and surrounding community. Forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate that the Auburn University campus will see temperatures below freezing with gusty winds that will produce wind chills in the single digits to the lower teens through Tuesday morning.
There is a potential for some light snow accumulations through Tuesday of around 1” or less.

Campus Safety and Security is closely monitoring the potential for winter weather next week. Potential impacts could start Tuesday and continue through early Wednesday morning.
At this time, no decisions have been made regarding closures or schedule changes.
However, in the event of significant weather and an official Auburn University change in operations, instructional faculty should be prepared to consider remote instruction where they deem appropriate.
