Matthew Campbell


Matthew Campbell started in Auburn’s institutional research office in 1997 as a Graduate Research Assistant and returned in 2005 as an Analyst. He has served Auburn as Director of Institutional Research since 2020. As Director, Matthew provides support in the areas of information management and stewardship for Auburn’s student, faculty and staff data, and is responsible for leading a unit focused on bringing research-based information to inform decision-making throughout the institution. Matthew is a past-president of the Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR) and holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Auburn University. Alexandros Doukopoulos joined the office in 2020. He has held many positions at Auburn from student, to researcher, to administrator. As an Analyst for Institutional Research, he relishes the opportunity to support Auburn's planning, evaluation and improvement through the administration of large, data-rich projects. Data Integration Specialist

A.J. Good came to Auburn University in 2015 to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Public Administration, which he earned in 2019. Following, he joined the Provost’s Office as a Data Integration Specialist with the primary responsibility of leveraging data to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives and projects across units within the Provost’s Office. Additionally, he serves as the steward of institutional surveys and faculty & employee data. A.J. specializes in methodology, statistics, and evaluation and applies these skills regularly in his current service to Auburn, as well as other scholarly research, teaching, and consulting activities. A.J.’s disciplinary expertise surrounds managing performance in public agencies and focuses on university operations, administrative practices, and policy in Higher Education. He enjoys working with data but believes it is even more gratifying to work collaboratively with those served by data, anticipate their needs, and see data inform decisions that can have positive impacts for Auburn University and serve the greater public good. Julia Thompson joined the office in 2018 after four years with the Graduate School and Office of Undergraduate Studies. She maintains the website with accurate information about Auburn University and develops interactive data visualizations for self-service reporting and analysis. She also provides support by assisting with data extracts and preparation, information requests, and other departmental projects. She holds the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education, Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, and Master of Technical and Professional Communication, all from Auburn University.
