The concept of emeritus engagement post-retirement is a topic that has gained attention in various academic institutions and professional organizations. Emeritus status is considered an honor and is not automatically conferred upon retirement. Emeriti organizations have emerged as a growing trend in higher education, allowing retired professors to stay engaged with their academic communities. The Auburn emeriti organization is intended to allow retired faculty members to stay engaged with their colleagues and the academic community through various opportunities. The literature suggests that emeritus engagement post-retirement is a valuable and important aspect of academic and professional life, allowing retired individuals to continue contributing to their fields and staying connected with their communities.
