Objectives:
Upon completion of this workshop participants will be familiar with:
- Basic sections of a grant proposal and approach on writing these sections
- Develop an appropriate budget and budget justification
- Additional financial aspects
Outline:
- Basic sections of a grant proposal and approach on writing these sections
- Review each section’s purpose and what they should include
- The Does and Don’ts in writing a strong persuasive proposal
- Develop an appropriate budget and budget justification
- Know what can and cannot be included in your budget
- Ensure what you are requesting in funds covers what you need to accomplish
- Additional financial aspects
- Fringe
- Facilities and Administrative Costs

Instructor – Susan Elkins
Susan Elkins currently serves as an Administrator for Proposal Services in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development at Auburn University. She is a graduate of Cottey College in Missouri and holds a Bachelor's of Engineering from Auburn University. Elkins will bring aspects of proposal development to the workshop as she speaks about the grant process and grantsmanship.
