Certification and Licensure

The Biggio Center Testing Services offer a variety of computer-based professional, licensure, and assessment exams through the providers listed below. The testing center, which consists of two professional testing labs, is located at Biggin Hall Suite 232. The center is monitored by cameras 24/7 and lockers are provided for examinees to store their belongings during a test. Prior to the exam and during breaks, students are welcome to wait in comfortable waiting room, which is outside the labs. The exams are administered by knowledgeable proctors whose priority is to assist students through the testing center process to create a stress-free testing experience.

Test Day Checklist
  • Review your appointment confirmation email to confirm your appointment time. 
  • Arrive at the testing center at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment. 
  • Review driving directions. Allow sufficient time for travel, parking, locating the test center, and checking in. At some testing centers, there is a fee for parking. 
  • Bring a valid, non-expired government-issued ID with a current photo and signature. Consider wearing layers of clothing, which can be removed due to variability in temperature in the test area. 
  • Prescriptions and bottled water may not be brought into the testing room but can be kept in the test center locker for access if needed. 
  • Consider bringing your own soft ear plugs or use the test center-provided sound dampening earphones to decrease distractions during the test. 
For Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Test Day

You must first register and pay for the GMAT on the their website.

Metro Institute Testing, Inc. provides online computer-based testing services in Alabama for the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries, such as:

State and National Exams

As a community service, Auburn University offers a number of standardized exams to help our community members with their educational and employment needs. If you have questions, need assistance in registration or locating information, email Testing Services.

Residual ACT (ACT-R)

Auburn University offers an on-campus Residual ACT test. This test is only available for students who plan to attend Auburn University. Scores will not be released to any other university or college because they are only valid at the institution that offers the test.

The Residual ACT is strictly limited to students who have enrolled, have been admitted, or have officially applied to Auburn. Scores from this Residual ACT are reported to admissions or your advisor.

  • To schedule a test, call Testing Services at (334) 844-3151 or email us.
  • $35.00 registration fee (non-refundable) must be paid either online with a card before your exam appt or on the day of your exam appointment with a credit / debit card or exact cash.
ACT On-Campus Eligibility
  1. An AU admission application must be on file with Auburn University for the upcoming semester.
  2. A 60-day minimum must elapse from the last Residual ACT taken.

If you register and do not meet eligibility requirements, you will be contacted, and your registration fee will be refunded. 

Inquiries for Testing Accommodations

To receive additional testing information (dates, times, etc.) and required documentation to review for accommodations contact Testing Services. All documentation needing to be reviewed must be provided no later than 10 workdays before your test date. 

Accommodations allowed for Residual ACT Testing are: 

  • Extended time 
  • Marking responses in the test booklet 
  • Food, drink, or medication (for medical conditions) 
Test Day Information
  • Timeline of test day:
    • Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m.
    • Tests begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. 
    • Tests conclude at approximately 4:00 p.m.
  • Arrive early. You will not be admitted to the testing room once the test has begun.
  • Bring an ID with a photo and signature (driver’s license, state ID, passport, school ID).
  • Calculators (model: TI83) will be allowed in the math portion of the test. Calculators are not provided.
  • Cell phone use is restricted during testing and must be turned off. 
  • Your test session will be monitored.

Auburn University is an official testing site for the State of Alabama Personnel Department.  The State Personnel exams take place in Biggin Hall on designated testing dates. Please see the website information to complete your application, check out job listings and register for an exam.

Brenda Schick, Ph.D., working with the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Diagnostic Center at Boys Town National Research Hospital, has developed the EIPA written test and knowledge standards. This comprehensive multiple-choice test evaluates the interpreter’s understanding of information that is critical to performing with students in an education setting. The test consists of 177 questions and takes approximately one and a half to three hours to complete. This computer-based test is administered through the Internet. A passing score on the EIPA written test is not needed to take the EIPA performance assessment. Please visit the EIPA website for more information about this assessment.

The EIPA will be conducted at Auburn University’s Biggio Center Testing Services, Biggin Hall Room 238, exams are at 10:00 AM unless otherwise noted.

There are two steps to register for the EIPA at Auburn University. 

  1. Visit the EIPA Boystown website. If registration is open, you will see the heading “Procedure for Registering for the Written Test” in red font. Follow the directions listed. 
  2. To reserve a seat to take the EIPA at Auburn University fill in the exam registration page. BiggioTesting Services charges $38.50 to proctor your EIPA exam. You may pay with a debit/credit card online at the time of your reservations or with a credit/debit card, exact cash, or check on the day of your exam at your check-in time.

The GRE® Subject Tests are achievement tests that measure your knowledge of a particular field of study. Each Subject Test is intended for students who have an undergraduate major or extensive background in one of the following disciplines: 

  • Chemistry 
  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Psychology 

The Subject Tests can help you stand out from other applicants by emphasizing your knowledge and skill level in a specific area.

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) test is an on-campus testing program that is available to middle and high school students who are preparing to begin college.
