Student Testing Information
Before your testing appointment, make sure you know where to go, when to arrive, what to bring, and what items are not allowed.
Biggio Testing Services is located on the second floor of Biggin Hall, near Toomer’s Corner. If you search for “Biggio Center,” you may be directed to the Academic Classroom and Laboratory Complex. That is not the testing location. For testing appointments, go to Biggin Hall.
Students should schedule exams in advance, arrive on time, bring required identification, and review exam day procedures before arriving. If you are unsure about permitted materials, check your exam instructions before your appointment.
How to Schedule or Reschedule an Exam
Note: Reschedules must be done within 24-hours of a scheduled appointment time. Excessive reschedules may result in an administrative fee. Examples of excessive rescheduling: 2-3 changes for the same course within a 5-day period.
Scheduling an Exam
- Sign into Canvas
- Go to your course with the exam
- On the left-hand side you will see a link entitled SmarterProctoring, click on the Profile tab
- Update your profile to include your local zip code and save
- Follow the instructions for selecting the testing center
- Choose your date and time for the test
Rescheduling an Exam
- Log into Canvas
- Select SmarterProctoring
- Locate your scheduled exam,
- Click on the reschedule button

Exam Day Walkthrough
Students will be marked a NO-SHOW after 15 minutes elapse after their appointment time, once marked a NO-SHOW students will need to reschedule their exam.

- There are seats located down the hallway in the testing center for your convenience, this area is a designated QUIET ZONE.
- Check-In With System QR Code
- The QR code is located on the orange papers located on the door of Room 238 and on the wall next to room 237
- The QR code alerts the seat reservation system that you are ready to test, please wait until your appointment time and you are ready before you scan the QR code
- Proceed into Room 238
- Please proceed quietly into 238 after you have scanned in the QR code and entered your email address

Late and No-Show Policy
- Testers have fifteen minutes to arrive after their appointment time before being considered late. After 15 minutes late a tester will have to reschedule.
- To be considered on time a tester must be checked in and seated at a workstation.
- Individual cases may be considered for admission if a student arrives 15 minutes after the appointment time.
- The Testing Center Staff has the right to deny admission for testing if requirements and policies aren't met.
- There are no fees associated with no-shows.
General Policies and Procedures
- No same day or walk-in appointments available.
- Testing Services closes at 4:00 pm on Fridays and reopens at 7:45 am on Monday.
- All test takers must present a valid form of ID before being admit ted to the testing room. Valid forms of ID include student ID, driver’s license, military ID, and passport. Test takers of other schools, testing vendors and certification exams should refer to their source’s rules for ensuring the correct ID type. No one will be admitted without a current and valid ID.
- Testing Services is closed on all school holidays and as posted. Any unforeseen closures will be posted on our website and communicated by email or campus communication to faculty and staff. Hours and closures are available on the Testing Services Website. Any unexpected campus closures will be posted on the Auburn University homepage.
- Test appointments will be scheduled on the hour and half-hour. Testing appointments should be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance during business hours. 3:00 pm is the latest an exam may be scheduled, depending on the length of the exam (e.g., 2 hours or more). Appointments will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
- All scratch paper and writing utensils will be supplied by Testing Services.
- All accommodated testing must be arranged prior to arriving at the Testing Services office.
- As a reminder, strong odors can be offensive or dangerous to other testing candidates. Minimize the use of perfume and cologne on testing day.
- Our Test Administrators are only available to administer tests.
- Any re-testing questions or concerns should be discussed with your instructor or institution.
- The Faculty and/or institution is responsible for scoring your test and communicating the results to you. Our Administrators do not have access to results or answer keys for proctored tests.
- The Testing Center does not collect homework or assignments
- No food or drinks are allowed in the testing room.
- Any electronic devices (i.e., cell phones, iPads, E-books, etc.) are not allowed. If you must bring your cell phone, you will be asked to placed it in a cubby/locker with all other personal items until the exam is completed.
- Prohibited item signs are posted throughout the testing center. No hoods, coats, jackets, shades (unless prescribed) or hats are allowed in the testing room.
- Unless noted by the faculty member, students will not be allowed to use books, calculators, notes, or other aids during test. All scratch paper and writing utensils will be provided by Testing Services. No other paper may be used unless it is provided by the instructor. All scratch paper will be collected at the end of the exam.
- Any person under 19 years of age who is not enrolled or dual enrolled at the University, must be supervised by an authorized adult, parent, or legal guardian at all times to ensure that the minor(s) are not disruptive to other testers, visitors, and Biggio Testing Center Services Staff. During the tester’s entire testing appointment minors must not be left unattended or expected to be supervised by the Center’s Staff. The Testing Assistant, Testing Coordinator, or Testing Services Manager may direct the tester along with the child who does not have an additional supervising adult present, or the supervising adult along with the child to leave the Center at any time during the testing appointment if it has been determined that this policy has been violated or that a minor’s presence negatively impacts the Center or the University’s interests.
- If unable to keep an appointment, please cancel or reschedule your individual exams online. Cancellations must be done 24 hours in advance. For cancellations due to extreme circumstance or if you have a technical issue, test-takers should call (334) 844-3151.
- All students taking test at Biggio Testing Center Services are bound by Auburn University, Title XII student Academic Integrity Code. If suspected of violating the Auburn Integrity Policy, the appropriate officials will be notified.

Prohibited Items
- No electronic devices including cell phones, digital watches, cameras, etc.
- No oversized coats, jackets, hats, hoods, headgear, or outerwear
- No bags, backpacks, briefcases, purses, or handbags
- No highlighters, pens, or pencils
- No pamphlets, dictionaries, or notes unless you receive prior approval from Professor
- No food, beverages, tobacco, alcohol, or illicit drugs
Cubby Storage
All items that are prohibited at the Computer Testing Station must be stored in the cubbies located within the testing lab
Live Video and Live Proctoring Monitoring
The Biggio Testing Services unit is available for proctoring in-person, campus-based assessments for no charge. For virtual proctoring, ProctorU and Respondus Monitor are the two options we support and recommend.
