DESCRIPTION: Upon notification as a finalist or recipient of a competitive fellowship from an organization or institution outside Auburn University, faculty member notifies departmental and college leadership to request leave.

CURRENT SYSTEMS: Unit to determine
DESCRIPTION: Faculty member completes the Request for Approval of External Residential Fellowship form and attaches an abbreviated CV and any award/notification letters.

DESCRIPTION: Faculty member routes the form and supporting documentation, in order, for review by the DHC, Dean, and Provost’s Office.

DESCRIPTION: If fellowship leave includes any travel outside the United States, the faculty member must submit a RAT 50 Request for Authority to Travel Outside the 50 United States.

DESCRIPTION: Prior to the beginning of the approved Fellowship Leave, the unit’s HR or payroll administrator sends the completed Request for Approval of External Fellowship form and supporting documentation to AU HR Records for payroll updates.

DESCRIPTION: At the end of the approved Fellowship Leave, two EPAFs are submitted : LVBAS with an effective date of the last day of approved leave | ADJFAS for 9-month faculty with an effective date of the first day back in the office.
