Quality Testing and Change Control Practices

The Quality Assurance Office, newly created in 2017, made a major impact in 2018. Early in the year, QA procured two software programs called JIRA and qTest which facilitate in tracking, reporting, and managing tests for different projects. QA has taken on the role of testing applications that the Campus Web Solutions group develops as well as overseeing the testing on major upgrades and software implementations such as the 2018 upgrade from Banner 8 to Banner 9.

The QA team has also taken the lead on managing the Change Control process that started in April 2018. From April to September, the Change Advisory Board reviewed 200 different technical changes to make sure they were reviewed, tested, and didn't create any unexpected reactions in other systems. This group will continue to develop to ensure that all changes run smoothly.
