The Campus Web Solutions, a team of six co-op students working for Application Development in OIT, worked hard to create an application that could accommodate up to 27,000 unique visitors in one day. And even once development was complete, the students had to monitor the performance and make sure everything went off seamlessly. They also worked very closely with OIT Quality Assurance department to run the software through tests to make sure there wouldn't be any issues during the election. And while it was unlikely to have all 27,000 visitors all going to the site at once, these students made sure the site could handle that and more.
In addition to monitoring the performance of the software, the students also have safeguards in place to make sure there aren't duplicate votes from the same account. We're proud of our co-op students and the effort they put into making sure Student Government elections are the best they can be.
